Strategic Studies was formed in response to an increased need in education for high quality technology-based instructional programs for K-12 students, specifically those using the Internet. The Strategic Studies team are skilled leaders with proven work experience in the fields of educational technology. Strategic Studies is committed to the effective delivery of services to individuals and organizations.

All of the Strategic Studies leadership team  have advanced degrees, with varying areas of specialty in Education, Social Work, Business, Administration, Technology, Research Methods and Measurement.

Key Staff and Consultants

Martha E. Angulo (Founder, CEO)
Dr. Angulo has a Ph.D. in educational administration and over 30 years experience in education as a teacher, administrator and school district superintendent. Since 1996, she has worked with school districts to assist them in writing curriculum and performance based assessments. Dr. Angulo has been the visionary for Strategic Studies and its programs. Her experience and knowledge have provided the guidance for the development of each of the programs.

Larry Chen (Webmaster)
Mr. Chen joined Strategic Studies in April of 1997 after completing a Masters of Science Degree in Computer Science from University of Illinois (Chicago) and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering from University of Illinois (Champaign). He designs, programs and manages all of the company’s web sites, over 1,800 pages to date. He installs and operates the firm’s network equipment and manages the vendor relationship with e-Tutor’s web hosting company. Mr. Chen also trains and provides assistance to others in the company regarding technology. He responds to technical questions and provides resources for seminars and workshops.

Melissa Lewis (Tutor)
Ms. Lewis has a broad range of knowledge in many subjects.  She has worked with adolescents and children as an instructor in an after-school art and sculpture program.  She has worked with troubled youth and established learning labs to help meet their instructional needs.  She has learned French by traveling and immersing herself into the French culture.  She is currently working on a second degree in Fine Arts. 

Adriana Staniou (Editor)
Ms. Stanoiu joins us with a professional background in international and marketing communications. A graduate of Beloit College, with majors in Spanish language and International Relations; she went on to complete a Master's degree in Political Science at the University of Hull in the United Kingdom. Specializing in Language Arts and Social Studies, Ms. Stanoiu is a valuable member of the curriculum writing/editing team at e-Tutor.

Curriculum Writers
Strategic Studies contracts with writers throughout the country to write instructional content.  Over 3,000 teachers have registered to write lessons using the popular LessonPro template (http://www.lessonpro.net).
